Dev's Top 5 Songs

Dev crashed into the music scene as a featured artist in 2010 with Far East Movement with the single, Like A G6. A lot of these songs are in the last weeks OHWW (One Hit Wonder Wednesday) post. Dev is very talented: she can both rap and sing! Her catchy tunes may be a little to auto tuned for some (especially "In My Trunk"), but her fantastic rapping makes up for it. Here are my favorite songs by Dev:

5. Bass Down Low (feat. The Cataracs)

As the follow-up to "Like A G6", "Bass Down Low" has the same exact song formula (chorus, rap, chorus, rap, chorus, sing, chorus). There is no build-up in the song as a whole, although each time the chorus is played there is a mini build-up. The song peaked at #10 in the UK, but didn't do so well in the US (#61). The song is decent overall, with the singing during the bridge being my favorite part.

4. Backseat by New Boyz (feat. The Cataracs and Dev)

This song peaked in the top 40 in the US, as its catchy chorus combined with Dev's smooth singing makes this song unforgettable. Some cons include the unoriginal lyrics, and overuse of auto tune. Fortunately, its awesome rapping and catchy chorus make this song a satisfying listen.

3. Like A G6 by Far East Movement (feat. The Cataracs and Dev)

This song started it all! Its genius sampling from Dev's song, "Booty Bounce" mixed with awesome rapping makes this song deserve the #1 spot it earned atop the charts in 2010.

2. Naked (feat. Enrique Iglesias)
Enrique's soothing singing mixed in with Dev's unforgettable voice makes this song perfect. "Naked" didn't chart very high worldwide (with the exception of #26 at Denmark) [its US peak was #99] but it is still one of my favorites.

1. In The Dark

Peaking right above the top ten at #11, Dev's best charting single as a solo artist doesn't disappoint. The clever sax, rap, and singing in this song makes it one of my favorites of all time! Another amazing thing about this song is the music video: Dev's best by a million miles.
